PAYETTE BREWING WINS MEDAL IN SIP NORTHWEST MAGAZINE’S
‘BEST OF THE NORTHWEST’ COMPETITION
Brewery selected for award among over 250 regional beers

Sip Northwest magazine released its seventh annual Best of the Northwest awards today, and Boise-based Payette Brewing Company has been awarded a bronze medal in the “American Style IPA” category for their Recoil India Pale Ale (IPA). Forty-six beers were entered in this category alone, out of 282 total across 17 distinct categories. All entries had to be produced in the Pacific Northwest, which includes Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Alaska and British Columbia.

“We are very proud to have been recognized by Sip Northwest magazine,” said Payette Brewing Owner Mike Francis. “Recoil IPA is a popular year-round offering of ours, and we love seeing it get the recognition it deserves from a well-respected publication.”

Recoil IPA has a unique hop blend that gives off a berry and piney aroma, balanced with a firm bitterness. Citra hops gives it a lemon aroma in the finish.

Sip Northwest’s 2018 Best of the Northwest issue is a versatile compilation of the top billing beverages of the year. This collector’s edition showcases the winners of the grand tasting competition from wine, beer, spirits and cider, along with top Northwest beverage trends, locally focused restaurant and bars, producers to watch, elite drink destinations to visit and when, plus much more.

“At Sip Northwest, we believe it is our responsibility to the reader to share what is out there,” said Erin James, editor-in-chief of Sip Publishing, publishers of Sip Northwest. “The adept palates on our blind panels help us to uncover and share what is the best of the Northwest, purely based on the drink itself, without any prejudices.”
